INCLUSIVE THEATRE PERFORMANCE AND EDUCATION IN CENTRAL NEBRASKA
DONATE
Five Reasons to Donate to Shakespeare on the Square
-
Stronger community . . . A vibrant arts community ensures that young people are not left to be raised solely in a pop culture and tabloid marketplace. Theatre brings families and friends together to experience performances from both sides of the stage, meet new friends, and experience the 'slice of life' theatre provides.
-
Theatre is great exposure to literature and history. As both audience and performers, lessons learned throughout the ages are more accessible in the form of enacted stories.
-
Theatre Improves academic performance . . . Students with an education rich in the arts have higher GPAs and standardized test scores, lower drop-out rates, and even better attitudes about community service—benefits reaped by students regardless of socio-economic status.
-
Local merchants benefit . . . Not only can local merchants advertise locally in the program perused by our audience for the time preceding the show start, but theatre can bring in new customers to local businesses both before and after a show.
-
Building the 21st Century workforce . . . Reports by the Conference Board show creativity is among the top 5 applied skills sought by business leaders.
